Yard Sale

I had planned on having a yard sale

later in the season

but an opportunity came up

A couple of my neighbors

decided to have one

so I thought why not

the weather has been perfect

So yesterday and today

I hauled the stuff 

all my glorious treasures out

I sold quite a bit yesterday

not so much so far today

It always surprises me what ppl

will buy

and how some ppl will drive

you crazy even after you

tell them that is your lowest price

(Come on - its $5 for an $80 light fixture)

or try to get something marked .25 for less

 I'm surprised 

my handmade

jewelry - earrings $3 or 2 for $5

or cloches on a stand $7.50 

or bookmarks for $1

haven't sold

and silly things like

dog collars

and  shoes

What are your experiences

with yard sales?

2 candlesticks

one was .50

the other $1

The tulip bowl was $ 2

and the small bowl .75

I glued them together

with E6000

and will be selling

both at my yd sale

potato salad

As many of you know

or don't know

As I make some of the family 

favorites

I have been posting them so that

my kids and family members

 will have them

I figured it would

 be nice not to have to

ask for them, that 

no matter where

 they are they can 

get online and find them

most being tutorials

So here is 

my potato salad recipe

I really don't measure anything

Chop:

pickles

celery

black olives

green onions

and add mustard to mix

cube potatoes

and boil

with eggs

boil potatoes until fork tender

run cooked potatoes

under water to stop cooking process

allow eggs to cool 

 peel and chop

while some of the potatoes

are cooling I smash 

them on the side of the bowl

this makes it a little creamier

I add the potatoes 

and eggs to the pickle combo

and refrigerate

until chilled

Add just enough Hellman's

or Best Foods Mayo

to moisten

Allow flavors to meld together and cool

Viola!

After being at the 

Buckeye Bloggerette bash

the subject of replying 

to comments came up

I realized I had been neglectful

and if people take the time

to comment I should reply back

even if just a few words

So what am I complaining about????

....no reply email addys

I come up with something

clever to say

(or at least in my own mind)

Bird Cage

I tried to come up
with something
 unique for the name
but couldn't....

I bought this bird cage
abt 2 yrs ago

and bird stand separately

and have gone back and forth
on what color I finally decided ORB
