My hsb has a nasty
cold, so it was time to break
out the crockpot
and make some gd
old chicken noodle soup
1 box reduced fat chicken broth
1 pkg baby carrots chopped
1 C chopped chicken**
1 1/2 C chopped celery**
noodles
(I used short cut spaghetti
it reminds me of lipton noodle soup)
I put it all in a crockpot
and let it cook during the day
and served it w/ 12 grain WW baguette
**I usually use what I have as
leftovers from other meals
that I have chopped up and put in the freezer)
Sounds great.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't feeling great this week either, so I made chicken soup in the crock yesterday also. Only I spooned it over rice. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteComfort foods with a healing touch.
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great!
This is just what we need around here to combat our nasty colds and this winter weather. Thanks so much for sharing! Love your photo and the name of your blog. I'm going to look around here for awhile. Have a great Tuesday, Candace
ReplyDeletePerfect for a snowy day like today when I can't get to the store and have plenty of leftovers I could add to the broth. Thanks for a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI love chicken soup and to have a Crockpot recipe is just great. It looks like we may be snowed in on Thursday, so I'm planning on making comfort food.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo! Oh, I love me some yummy chicken soup! Yours looks so good.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Looks wonderful. I bet it would be equally good with rice instead of pasta too.
