Bunny Teacups

We found these teacups a few weeks ago
at GW for .99 - can you believe it? My hsb
was going to make bird feeders out of them
until we got them home and realized
that we just couldn't do it.

Bed and Breakfast

Apparently the word is out in our neighborhood that we are running a bed and breakfast....

Can you see one of the room from here?

Me either maybe we need to look closer

Maybe we need to closer.....can you see it now?

Kind of minimalistic to me..... definitely a fixer upper

but.......Ms Bunny likes the cool comforts of modern concrete......

She was caught noshing on poppy leaves for dinner

Later she was caught having clover for dessert

In the back yard...under the porch.......

Mr Fat Butt (refer to this post)

http://jos2ndact.blogspot.com/2009/07/wanted.html

He apparently likes it more dark and dingy as well as airy

I haven't actually seen him eating - purely circumstantial evidence

although he didn't seem to care for some of his food choices.............

He has a more discerning palate for basil.
.... yes the same basil I planned on making tonight's pesto for dinner
This is what it looked like yesterday:

Today after Mr Fat Butt dined:

guess he couldn't reach the top leaves
Since we reserve the right to refuse......he's been cut off....by netting

Now, I KNOW they were there last night............
what happened to my poor squash leaves????........
was it squash flu??? ........
was it some aphid terrorists?????......
NOPE
IT WAS THIS EVIL DOER

WANTED
MR. FAT BUTT
He is very cute (even I thought so when he lived in the wooded area besides my house) .....and even though it doesn't look like..... it he can move rather quickl..... he actually leapt over some rocks in the yard....he is armed (with teeth) and dangerous.......(to squash leaves in my yard)

Christmas in July

I was going show the Christmas ornaments I make , however this did creep up on me and I didn't get one photographed so .....I reall didn't want to begin to think abt Christmas (probably the reason why didn't get the photos taken)but remembered that years ago when we first bought this house I took Christmas photos so I would remember the next year how I decorated so I'd like to share the fireplace mantle with you....

Here's a close up:

Since these photos were taken I found a great drawing of a Santa winking - he also has his finger up on his lips shhing that we put up over the mantle at Christmas .

Tag Your It

I've been tagged - Thanks to Dawn and Sunny!!

Dawn has shared about her pup, Sunny, so I decided to say a little abt mine:

I too have a yellow lab named Emily. She turned 11 April 1st. She is still very spry for an old dog. She doesn't like 4th of July - as a pup she didn't mind but as she has gotten older she gets frantic with the fire crackers.

She loves the dog park unfortunately the younger dogs are to much for her any more. She isn't into rough housing - she just likes to sniff and walk around

She is definitely a comfort puppy - she has never met a pillow she doesn't like and if there is one hanging out on the floor she'll find it
If you have been tagged and wish to play - The rules are:
First you must tell your readers five things about yourself that they may not already know, but are true.
Second you must tag five people with the award.
Third, you must let the people know you have given them this award.
And finally, link back to the person who gave the award to you.

5 Things People may not know abt me:

1. I love to read. I try to read 2-3 books a week. I luckily am a fast reader so it is relatively easy for me to accomplish.

2. I love baseball games. I especially like the smaller teams when they have local give aways etc, I have been to both an All Star Game and to the World Series when the Twins were in it in 1987

3. I'm 1/2 Portuguese - Azorean and Irish - not Italian

4. Originally I was a home ec major

5. I'm a hippie at heart

Blogs I have tagged:

1. Sue at Sullivan and Murphy

2. Kammy at Small Home in the country

3. Lori @ Katies Rose Cottage

4. Chris at Just a Girl

5. The Blue Ridge Gal

Thanks all for playing along!!

A Little Spray Paint..will do ya

This weekend we got this metal chair for our new flowerbed at a local antique store for $20 ( Most oft he ones we have seen are well over $50). When we put it in the space, the white made it stick out like a sore thumb...........

Show and Tell Friday

Please join Kelli and other participants
for Show and Tell Friday

Recently while I was at a local antique mall came across this teapot/kettle. It made me smile and for a brief moment thought of buying it. I realized I had no where to display it as it didn't really fit into my decor, beside at $12 it was to pricey for my budget. Instead I decided to take a picture and share it with everyone in hope it makes you smile as well.

Yes, it is a watermelon teapot!

New Flower Bed

So we came home and he started marking out the new flower bed.

He has decided he wants to make as many flower beds as he can so that there is less to mow. The plan is to get it marked out and move some of the perennials from other beds over. Either later this year or next Spring he plans on building a dry stack stone wall around it, so it'll be more of a raised bed.

Great job Chuck!!!!!
