Farming....

On Saturday
 we started out going
 one place
(the Apple Fest)
and
ended up
in a lot of other places...

We were just driving down a country road

and came across this place
Garver Family Farm

    In 1926, this farm
was purchased
 by Harry Garver.
Four generations
 have proudly cared
 for this land. Many aspects
 of the farm
have changed
 in shape and size.
But one thing important
has remained the same
: this is still a family farm.

I think actually
the lure of pumpkin ice cream

is what drew us in

they sold all kinds of veggies

scarecrows

cornstalks

and of course

pumpkins

I love pumpkin ice cream

Biscuit Jar

Haven't gotten much on the thrifty finds
We have been busy with events
however I did get this biscuit jar
at Goodwill for $3

There was a pink one
but it didn't have a lid
I wish I had bought it now

I plan for it to sit on a shelf
in my kitchen

Chocolate Roses

Aren't they beautiful?

Building Block Jewelry

I have been helping
with a local
kids and rockets/robots group

We had so much fun helping kids
at a rocket launch
they do a lot with Lego robots

Once a month May-Oct
our community
has what is called  1st Fridays

The group has
had a booth to promote themselves
the wife of the leader
has made earrings as a fundraiser

so I thought hmmmm
I can make jewelry and donate it

so they can make some much
needed funds to help

pay for many of their activities
so out of a pile of Lego
pieces this is what I came up with

In order to make these
I got to play with a new toy

it is a battery operated Dremel!

I got it at WalMart
for $20

Dremel Minimite Cordless Rotary Tool

Now it is not super speedy
but for me it is the best because
it is a little slower
(power tools intimidate me)

and was itching to play with it
as you can see
it is sooooo
easy to drill with
you will be seeing
