Apple Butter

Apple Butter

I don't use
specific amounts
a lot is to my taste
I first core and quarter
the apples
I use this handy tool

but I do peel the apples 1st
some ppl don't they pull the peels
out after it cooks

Place them in the crockpot
with 1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp nutmeg and a 1 tsp cloves
2-3 C sugar depending on sweetness of your apples
I prefer it less sweet

let it cook down all day
then use an immersion blender
blend until spreadable

I usually put it in quart zip bags
and freeze it

  1. I love apple butter and Mr. S does not. I haven't had any for years! I always used to dab a little butter on a piece of toast, let it melt, and then spread the apple butter on it. Oh my gosh. You took me back many years....
See ya on Thursday for lunch at Brio! I'm going thrifting in the morning if there are any sales. I hit an estate sale in Oakwood on Sat. It was amazing, but it all cost way too much money for what I wanted, since Park Ave. Antiques was doing the sale. Oh well.....

  2. This sounds good and easy. I love apple butter. I've been wanting to do something over than the main meal in the crock pot. Think I'll just try this!!

  4. Thanks so much for posting and linking to Crock Pot Wednesday. We love apple butter around here, and I love making it in the slow cooker. I'm like you. I just make it by "feel." Thanks again.
