Vacation Finds

We stopped in this one place
Inn-tique in Milan OH

They had tons of stuff
however most was not
marked
which I personally hate
to have to ask what a price
is since I feel that they hike it up
to see if you'll bite

The pattern is

lilac time
I found some on line
any where from 12.99-19.99
 for the fork alone

They are engraved
Randy

11-29-59

I probably paid more for these
glass knobs

than I should've
orginal he wanted $30
for 6 of them
no way was I going to pay that
so I ended up paying $20
I had not seen any of
these small of ones
and I have plans for them

The bad part was we went to
another place
called
Sights and Sounds of Edison
Milan is the home town of Thomas Edison

and got 2 for $2
I also got the
 architectural piece for $4

We are hoping to be
able to use it to replace the
part on the from of
our house that has rotted

While on Put-in-Bay

I found a piece of material
which I didn't know
was a shower curtain
for $2

It will be perfect to recover
some chairs

We did stop at this one antique/junk shop

they had a lot of things but
it was so overloaded
that you really couldn't see anything

(sorry fort he quality used my phone)

you get the idea
I bet there were treasures but
it was awful in there
not to mention
most things were
not marked
and you know how I feel abt that!

2nd time around

Dresser Vanity

We bought this dresser
in Amish country
at an antique store
in 2007
We paid $22
for it and it looked awful
of course I didn't take a pix
of it before -was pre-blogging
this is it once I had stripped it

I will show how the sink
was cut out below

Wood Grain

Check the fit

The sink is off center because of the
way it needs to fit in the bathroom

After staining with Minwax

I polyed the top
with Helmans
I didn't like it at
all
It did give the finish I wanted but
did not like the application process
and had a terrible time with the natural
bristle brushed shedding

Some adjustments
had to be made
with the drawers
to fit around
the pipes

The top left drawer
could not be used as a regular
drawer so we purchased
this tilt out that usually
go on kitchen sinks

and yes the knobs came with the dresser

Before

Dresser $22
Sink $35 on sale
Faucet $50 on sale
varnish/stain etc abt $10
so for under $150
we were able to make it
