Until.....

There aren't many
old photos
of this room
because it
was pretty much
a catch all room

It did have blue/grey
 indoor outdoor carpet
we tore up

under it was this
 lovely green linoleum

so we decided to pull it all up
and redo the wood floor
if it was in good shape

UNTIL......
(why is there always
an until in old houses)

we noted a square
pattern in the linoleum
thinking it might be
a trap door
(don't you love our imagination)
as we pulled it up
we noticed soot on the edges

The new boards are
wider than the old
boards and instead
 of replacing the whole length
they cut a square area out

We thought redo then
put a carpet but
it is in a very odd place
soooooo
back to the drawing board
and at this point we
are thinking abt painting
the floor a dk walnut color
but it won't be until
the summer
when we can open it all up

A Whiter Shade....

I had bought 2 cheese keepers
awhile ago
and I also have had these bases for awhile

lightly sanded everything

I didn't like the original look of these
I'm also not sure what they were

I sprayed them with
Heirloom White

and glued the bases
to the tops
and viola!!

I've had this table for awhile
it was in really bad shape
the leather had cigarette burns

 and initially
 I painted in black
but hated it!
So it got a couple of coats
of Heirloom White too!

I got these plates
quite a while ago

(yes I am finally
getting to all "those" projects
I spray painted it
again with the Heirloom White
(yes I do use other colors)

Using the Damask Decor
Cricut cartridge
I cut this out
of vinyl

using transfer paper I centered it
and rubbed it into place

It took longer
to choose a design!

Most of these items
will be in my upcoming yard sale

Another Step Closer

I've talked abt the problems
we've had with trying to paint
 the front of the house

Before the metal wrap

new sill

primed

We have been fighting time but this
weekend my hsb
was able to get the fishscales painted

and the house is getting another step closer to
being how I envisioned it

so far

I think we are getting close
