Spooning.....

I had seen these baby spoons

here

 I knew, I had

to make them

 as baby gifts

I used

plastic alphabet letters

I got at Walmart

 in the kid craft dept

beads I had

22gauge wire

and baby spoons

I started by wrapping the wire 

around the top abt 10 times

then I went threw the sides

of the letters

After going threw both sets of holes

I wrapped the wire tightly

around the spoon 3 times

then added the beads

wrapping around the spoon 3 times

 to secure the beads

I did use a dab of Aleene's jewelry 

to glue the beads together

when I was finished

One person will be stringing

 a ribbon through the hole

 using it as an ornament

 for their Christmas tree

Another plans to put

 it in a shadow box

What seemed like a routine day...

Today we hads some excitement

Miss Iz went to get her second set

of shots no big deal....easy peasy

she got weighed a cub at 18.4

got my shots and was adorable 

everyone at the office

loved the pup

Well we got home 

and something didn't look right

and I realized her eye was swelling

in the time it took me to to call the 

Vet and drive the 5 min ride

to the office her face doubled in size

 and she was having a hard time breathing

She got both benedryl and steroids 

to counteract the reaction her face

He felt she was having a reaction

to the lepto shot (Leptospirosis, a contagious disease 

affecting both animals and humans and spread by

 infection with a bacterial pathogen called Leptospira,

 may result in chronic liver and kidney disease 

and fatality in the dog.) she hadn't gotten it b/4

since it is optional she won't be getting it again

 Her next set of shots she will get prophylactic

 benedryl just in case

After her shots she stayed at the office 

for a cpl of hrs - I'm sure her butt never saw the floor

she'll be on steroids and antihistamine for a few days

Kiddo cups

My dtr got one of these cups yrs ago

it was filled with candies

but I decided to 

do something different 

so I put hot chocolate

All you need is

short clear plastic cups

felt

wiggle eyes

pompom nose

tacky glue

ribbon

put 3 circles 

for eyes and nose

let them dry

apply glue around edge

you will need to stretch

the felt around the top

and apply a strip of glue up the back to seal the seam

I put a cello bag 

with hot cocoa

some of these gingerbread men marshmallows

and some choc chps

I put a little poem abt

snowman soup

I got here

and tucked it in the back

stuck 2 peppermint sticks

for antlers

and tied with a bow

in the bag I added 

reindeer poop

and reindeer food

I added it to a decorative bags

They have the kids name on them

 but I blocked them out

I got the tags here

that I will post tomorrow

and you have a fun kid gift

Lemon Sugar Scrub Gifts

Lemon scrub

I got the recipe and tags are here

I did a little bit of a change

I like the coarser sugar

so I used 

1 1/4 C raw sugar

1 1/4 C white Sugar

1 C olive oil

then add 4Tbsp or abt 1 lemon

I use one of these to get the most out

of the lemon

I also warm the lemon in

micro

mix well

and spoon into a jar

to deocrate I used the tags from the link above 

I printed them on white but it didn't

give it the look I wanted 

so I dabbed on the  following

 to make it look more antique

I then wanted to do 

something special for the spoons

I have another project

 I am going to do w 

the thinner baby spoons

so while looking for them 

I cam across these 

and they were perfect

so I got out some jewels

I had and E6000

and glitzed them up

then it was time to put it together

the ribbon wouldn't stay so it was back to square one

I had these plastic bags

It makes abt four 8 oz jars

 w a little left over for you 

 I added more sugar for a 5th jar
