Covered Journal

I bought the journal
at Michael's
in their $1 bins

I took the cover off of the binding

applied the glue to the outside

brought the paper over the edges

I then covered the inside with a different paper
cutting it just a little shorter
than the cover

I used a crochet hook to punch threw the wholes

then put the binding back on

viola !!!

Although mine aren't as elaborate

Economical Flower Embellishments

I got this idea from a post
After looking at the price at the craft stores
I decided there had to be a better
cheaper way to do this
If you take out the plastic part of the flowers

you have the same type of flower embellishments
that cost an arm and a leg

The pink bush had 102 flowers
at $3 for the bush

ended up .03 a piece

the white ones I got 69 at $2 for the stem

or .03 apiece

The mixed was tricky

 I got 44 leaves and 45 flowers for 1.50 or .02 a piece
flowers alone would be .03 a piece

I also got some isolated flowers
that if I could use in something else it will cost even less

So when you are out shopping and come across
silk flowers on the cheap
pick up a sprig!

You will be seeing theses in some future projects
You could even cut the petals for weddings

Even the large flowers can be used
on large cards
presents etc

Extravaganza Plus

We went to the Springfield Extravaganza
from the website:

Twice a year, in May and September,
 the Springfield Antique Show
and Flea Market holds its famous Extravaganza.
Wear your walking shoes and prepare for a day
of fun shopping over 2,500 dealers
who’ll be set up in a dozen buildings
and outdoors across the entire fairgrounds.

A lot of the Buckeye Bloggers
were there -on different days
 although
I didn't run into one
or anyone I knew

I got this highchair for $40

I like Shabby chic
however it doesn't go
with my decor

so I will be stripping it
and staining it
in the near future

We got this
lamp cover for $15
it is 16 in across

We will be making
a bird bath out of it

This pin was $7
but she reduced it to $3

The big find was this bed

full size
was $125
we got it for $95

After 7 hrs at the Extravaganza
we stopped at a store called Ollie's

The box of scrapbook paper
150 sheets reg $24 for $10
(that's .06 a piece)

The punches were $3 a piece
the stamps $2
