Fridge Notepads

My first project
in my new studio
came from this inspiration
from Kristy at
Next to Heaven

I took these coasters
from the $1 bin
at Michael's

I lightly scuffed
them up
with a sanding sponge

Using my cricut
I cut a 4in
circle using the
craft room
 and George cartridge

I modpodged
them together
and put a layer
on top to seal
the paper

I then took the sanding sponge
and sand with a downward motion

sanded I removes the excess
paper and seals the papers

match up the notepads

Also with cricut
I cut a rectangle
1.25 w x 1.986 h
out of scrap
paper to cover the binder clip
I also scuffed it up
with a fine sanding sponge

glued them in place

then added
embellishments
this one is a flower button

that I cut the
 shank off of it
and glued it to
he binder clip

and added a magnet
on the back

I also cut a 6 in
piece of ribbon
and tied it on
 to the back clip

This project will use
a lot of your scraps
 up not to mention
those leftover
embellishments

I will be selling these
and my next
 major decision
is whether or not
I should wrap
them in cellophane or not

the pro is it keeps them protected
The con is they are slightly obstructed

What are your thoughts
cellophane or not?

Signs,signs everywhere a sign...

Have you ever wondered what to do
with those yard signs
that you have had at election time?

This kind is the honeycomb style
I took two of these
and made it into an sign for
a robot and kids carnival sign
for our towns First Friday

I spray it with
clear primer for plastic first

it bubbled w/o it
I then painted one white then the green
Valspar Satin Summer Leaf
then the other just with the green

it really didn't take anymore
so I would skip painting it white 1st

I was going to use blue letters
but after doing a trial run
with blue paper (instead of vinyl)

I decided on using white
and I did some rearranging of the letters

I used everyday contact paper
for the lettering
much more economical

White Contact Paper, 18" x 9'

I cut the letters out with my cricut machine
using the George cartridge
size 4 1/2

You could use idea this for anything

I have another project in mind for these sign
so check back soon.....

Teen Doodle Journal

My great- niece
 will be having
 her birthday this month
so I made her a doodle booklet

I explained in this posting
 how I did these booklets

Inside pages

Back pages

Since she was very little
I have given her
a charm for both
Christmas and her birthday
She told me this year
her bracelet is full...

So she gets another one!

I also stuck in
some stickers
and embellishments
for her to make
 her own pages
I used Cricut
Twinkle Toes
Jasmine
and
DoodleCharms
