Dishing It Party

I've decided to join

Info regarding this can be found at

In Amanda's own words
Dishing It! will be a new monthly party--my way of getting bloggers
together to chat about a common topic. I'll post a topic today, and ask
everyone to linkup and hop around Wednesday and Thursday,
after the party goes live. I think it will be a fun way
for us to get to know other bloggers.

How long have you been blogging?
My official blog birthday is April 22 -
so my first blogaversary is coming up
(and there will be a giveaway)

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because two of my three children
live away from the area and it was
a way for them to see what we were doing
and for me to share family recipes

Tell me about your blog's title. Why did you choose it?

My blog started out Jo's 2nd Act, after a thrift shop
I managed for a local community theater.
When I started blogging I couldn't
think of anything clever and the theater/thrift store
took up most of my time. As the months went
by I decided to change it to
That's My Story..and I'm sticking to it. When the kids were
young and they would be asked why they did this
or that we would get a story - usually the typical
 long drawn out version
.. and even when they were caught
in the middle of the fabrication...
we would joke umongst our self -
that was their story- right , wrong or indifferent
and they were going to stick to it....
 no matter what

What do you blog about?

Just abt everything. Recipes, places we go, photography, crafts, home decor

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The people who I have met, sharing ideas, and the
way in which people especially the women
support each other in non judgmental ways

What's the funniest comment you've ever received on a blog post?
I don't know the funniest one, but the one that stuck with me the
most that I have passed on is when my dog died in January

" We bring pets into our lives knowing it will be
for a much shorter period than we would like it to be yet we
do it any way. That must say something about how important
they are to us. " It touched me way beyond belief.

So please link up tonight at 10pm EST

  4. Hi Jo;

I'm stopping in to visit from the "Dish" party at Serenity Now.

I love the colors on your blog.

You are also a wonderful photographer.

I've only been blogging a short while, but I understand your statement "will blog for comments". It means so much to know that someone's "out there".

    All the best in blogging.

  8. Beautiful photographs! I like the story behind your blog title, too.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I also had a dog named Emily; she's been gone for more than ten years already, and sometimes I still miss her.

  24. Pink, purple and green flowers remind me of my wonderful mother! Love the refreshing look of your blog and the beautiful photos of nature. Now I do not have to go to the park (and get bitten by BUGS) another benefit of living in the "middle"
