When you use red and green apples the salad has a festive look
Waldorf Salad
4 apples - 2 red, 2 green chopped
3/4 C Celery chopped
3/4 C raisins - some people use grapes but my family likes raisins
1/2 C chopped walnuts
mayonaise to moisten
Toss the apples with a little lemon juice to stop browning
Add the rest of the ingredients, toss and chill
This recipe can be adjusted to your tastes

This does sound so good and if we go light on the mayo we will be eating such a healthy dish.

ReplyDeleteI haven't had this salad for years and years! It used to be a staple for holiday get-togethers. Sounds as if you had a great time at your niece's home for Thanksgiving. I didn't cook- it was not a good day w/my head. We nuked whatever we could find in the freezer, I napped, then we went for dessert at my SIL's house. Hope Christmas goes a lot better! LOL
