Patriotic Wreath

While looking at
the blogs I followed
I found the following
tutorial at

017

I had all
the items except
for the star
While at Joann's
I found a star hook
for $3
so decided to adapt it
I attached it
with zip ties

I think I will
paint it
since it blends in
with the wreath

My flag wasn't
as long as hers
but for my door
I think the shorter
worked better

It was very easy
and really dramatic effect
to the front door

Put a cork in it...

When I saw this idea

I knew I wanted to make one
with my own twist

I glued a 15/16 in
washer on each end

I had sm washers
on hand that fit right in the hole
You can use any size with a
smaller hole

I then glues a nut
on top of it

then screwed the eye hook
I put a small part of glue
on the screw portion
in to the cork

I did the same on both end

I took left over
beads and charms
and made danglies

added a ring
and it was complete

A few of the ones I made:

Butterfly

Dragonfly

These would make great
gifts

Birthday w/e wrap up

My birthday started
out at Springfield Extravaganza
Day 2

There were a lot more people

and I regretfully
have to say people weren't
as nice - really rude
cutting ppl off or walking right in front
of you look at you and stop
while you are walking

A lot of the furniture
sold on Friday
there were some pieces
left  - the Annie Solan
Chalk paint ones
were all well over $200

I believe this piece was close to $300

We left after abt 3 hrs
I did get the following

these faucet handles will be
windchimes

A container of wine corks
for $5 - .06 a piece

I have keychains in mind
for these

We also got
an old chair for $5
but it is still in the van

After we left we went
to a local farm
and got strawberries
they are so sweet and juicy

We then went to a shopping mall
called The Greene
it looks like a town
and in the center is a green area
with a dancing fountian for kids
to play in
We listened to a local
band

It was such a nice night outside

When we came home
I had a birthday cake
made by my daughter
Devon

 they were kind
the blue ones represent 10 yrs

It was a great birthday weekend

Day 1 Springfield

We went to
the Springfield Extravaganza
today
It was a beautiful day
Some of the booths:

Flowers

  Someone did buy
this bike
I heard quite
a few men say they had one as a kid

 Annie Sloan
Chalk paint

The new Vintage Marketplace

There were a lot of architectural pieces

 What I bought
earrings $1 apiece
I will re-purpose them

The photos do not do these justice

Watches $1 a piece
I will be taking the faces off
and re-purposing the insides

These charms are metal
and I will re-purpose them

This metal garden fairy
is abt a ft tall
and I paid $8
I have looked all over for fairies

When going back
to find a table
I liked that was $30
I came across
these 2 beauties
the are lamp tables

they were $15 a piece!

they are from the 1920-1930
time peroid

and yes I snagged them up
instead of the other table!

I also got 3 basil plants
for $2 a piece

I met up with Sue from Sullivan and Murphy

and Debby from  Cozy Blanket
It was great catching up with them!

More tomorrow.....
