For just a moment....

In one of the brief
moments of sun
after a morning of rain

I looked out my
window on the side
that I have a neighbor

and saw these beautiful flowers

 I decided it was definitely
one of those stop and smell the roses

or maybe stop
and take the photos moments

I loved how the rain drops were on the petals

Hope you enjoyed them
as much as I did

The rain started back right
after I took the photos

Easter treats

I just had to share some local goodies
From my most favorite bakery
Sweets Boutique

Aren't they just yummy

The frosting is soooooooooooo light
and not overly sweet
like some

A friend of my daughters
makes these delights

Cookies by L

the "frosting"
is actually chocolate!

Now I've tempted you
I have to figure out how many
hours I need to walk on
my treadmill was worth it!

Cricut Fun - Cards

At First I thought these were just
birthday cards
but after looking at them
they don't say birthday
only party so I guess you
 could use them for anything
you want to celebrate..

I finally have started
 to play with my cricut
I got months ago

George for the 4 in circle and  3 1/2 in wording
Doodlecharms for the 3 1/2 in hat

The card is 4 1/2 inx 6 1/4 in

I used cardstock
and even paint chips

(on the hat)

and jewels on the fluff of the hat

I have a lot of birthdays
coming up so they'll
come to great use!
The inside one
 I put this

Friday Fillins

 lists four statements
with a blank for you to fill in
on your own blogs. If you want to join
the fun and come up with four fil
l in’s of your own, please email them
to her at

If she uses them, she will add
you as co-host to the hop!
She would LOVE it if you could
please help me spread the word about this hop….

1. If not for my significant other,
I’d never have been a stay at home Mom

2. On more than one occasion,
I have put makeup on at red lights in a car

3. The worst meal I ever made was
I don't know, I think I would have to ask my family

I do have a funny story,
growing up we never cooked -
my mother did, so when I got married
I didn't have a clue. So I went to make spaghetti
for the family (we lived w/ my ex in-laws)
I put the pasta in cold water
and when my former m-i-l pointed out
that it was wrong - I wouldn't admit it
I told her that was how
 I always did it lol...
what is worse my former f-i-law
was an executive chef at a resort!

4. My guilty t.v. pleasure
 is either General Hospital
 ( I have been watching
 it since the 60's) or

Dancing with the Star
(oh how I wish i could dance)

Phases of the Kitchen

Click on photo to enlarge

When my hsb viewed the house:

The counters were grey and not all
of them matched pattern-wise
can you see the caveman
yes they left it - it weighed a ton!
the cabinets
are maple with green knobs
The only drawers
were the little green ones

I knew I couldn't
live with the blue
it was awful
we moved some of the cabinets
even though they really
didn't match up in size

1st we got rid of the fridge because
it didn't even begin to meet our needs
little did I know there were 5 layers
of paint and 2 layers of wallpaper!

It took months to do

Finally a clean walls!

The first plan
this is my inspiration pg

as you can see the wall color
isn't even close
The wall color ended up more pink/peach
than I wanted
But I lived with it for a few years
I really didn't know what to do with the space

The kitche is really big but never felt
I finally figured out I needed to move the fridge to
the wall with the stairs
on it so we
would have a true
triangle not a galley

The next paint color
I chose which is what I wanted
originally was:

I got rid of the nightmare stove
and bought a jenn-air
which I love

I needed real drawers So we bought
a large cabinet at HD
and that is when I started realizing
that we could chg things around

as I looked i realized that
we could beuild around the fridge

I wanted more counter space -
or should I say I needed some counter space?
so finally after playing around I had a design plan

I still didn't know if it was going to work
so we decided to replace the bottom cabinets
and put a temp top on til
I can save for the top
(that is when I decide what I want)
So right now
it looks like this:

There is so much more to do
get a dw
back splash
counter tops

but I'm thrilled how it is
coming along
